Major Spider-Man: Homecoming Plot Hole Detected by Eagle-Eyed Marvel Fan

While we wait for the arrival of Spider-Man: Far From Home about to hit the screens in the near future, the fans are left to their own devices to analyze and examine whatever Marvel material they have at their disposal until the movie hits the screens. The most recent one they have latched on to is Spider-Man: Homecoming, where one lucky fan could be the reason we were able to discover this major plot hole in the overall story line of the Spider-Man: Homecoming movie.

Spider-Man: Homecoming Marvel

Spider-Man: Homecoming was one of the biggest blockbuster movies in the year of its release. But when put under a critical lens, Homecoming also fell short when it comes to continuity and plot direction. Presenting – Major Spider-Man: Homecoming plot hole detected by eagle-eyed Marvel Fan!!

Spider-Man: Homecoming Marvel

Spider-Man: Far From Home might be too far away bt Homecoming has come and gone. A movie of that calibre was considered to be flawless. Tom Holland’s portrayal of the wall crawler was pretty incredible and spot on to the comic book counterpart of the red, black and blue superhero. Even so, one person has managed to point out the chink in the armour of Spider-Man: Homecoming. The claim is that Peter Parker could have ended the fight way before it began. The events of the movie did not have to play out so disastrously had Peter Parker decided to use the enormous amounts of resources (he had all thanks to Tony Stark) at his disposal.

What the plot hole says is that when Spider-Man was chasing after the bad guys who were selling alien tech weapons to the highest bidder on the streets, he could have just stopped chasing them altogether and used the license plate on their van to track down the owner. He could have then busted in himself or alerted the authorities regarding the same matter, and the cops would have arrested Vulture’s crew then and there at the scene of the crime. The van did end up back in the vulture’s hideout, right?!?!

So why did not Spider-Man use this tactic? Maybe he forgot to use his brain in the heat of the moment? If you have seen police car chases, the first thing they do is run the licence plate numbers through their database, thus revealing the identity of the driver they are chasing down. Spider-Man had one of the most advanced Artificial Intelligence systems embedded within his hyper advanced suit of armor. All he had to do was ask. Why did not he??

Maybe when Nick Fury gets into the game in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man would learn the ways of Espionage! He really needs to do this. Luck may not favour him a second time. Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays the Villain Mysterio in the movie, had this to say about Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

Spider-Man: Homecoming Marvel

“It’s great. He’s a great character. It’s one of those things, people have asked me for a number of years, ‘You wanna do a movie like that? If you were asked to, would you?’ And my response has always been, particularly since being at Sundance, so many of the stories have always been, for many years since I’ve been coming here, character-driven, and that has always been my desire, is to find something in that space, that seems to match my skill and also my own honesty. And it just so happened that it does with that part, so I’m glad that people feel excited about it,” Gyllenhaal told the Los Angeles Times.

The last Avengers movie to be released under the MCU banner was Avengers: Infinity War. The official film synopsis for the movie reads:

Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artefacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
